Featured Quailgating Recipe
Easy Grilled Marinated Quail Legs
Sometimes the best game-day recipe is the one that lets the quail do the talking.
These grilled marinated quail legs keep things simple. Fire up the grill, cook the quail legs until beautifully browned and safely cooked through, and serve them hot with your favorite game-day sauce.
What You’ll Need
Ingredients
- Manchester Farms Marinated Quail Legs
- Cooking oil, as needed for the grill grates
- Your favorite BBQ sauce, hot honey, Buffalo-style sauce, or dipping sauce
- Optional chopped green onions or fresh herbs for serving
How to Grill Marinated Quail Legs
1. Preheat the grill.
Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and clean the grill grates. Lightly oil the grates if needed to help prevent sticking.
2. Add the quail legs.
Arrange the marinated quail legs on the hot grill, leaving a little room between each piece.
3. Grill and turn.
Grill the quail legs, turning periodically, until they develop good color and are cooked evenly.
4. Check the temperature.
Use a food thermometer to confirm the quail has reached the current USDA-recommended safe minimum internal temperature for poultry.
5. Sauce them—or don’t.
The marinated quail legs already bring plenty of flavor. Serve them as they are, or finish them with BBQ sauce, hot honey, Buffalo-style sauce, or your favorite game-day glaze.
6. Serve hot.
Pile them onto a platter, put out plenty of napkins and dipping sauces, and let your crew take it from there.
Quailgating Tip
Set out two or three different sauces and let everyone choose their favorite.
Try BBQ for the traditionalists, hot honey for the sweet-heat crowd, and Buffalo-style sauce for the wing fans.
One platter. Three flavors. No boring game-day food.
The Kind of Game-Day Food People Talk About
Quailgating isn't about making game day complicated.
It's about serving something people didn't expect.
Instead of putting another tray of the same wings, burgers, and hot dogs on the table, give your friends something they'll remember.
Grilled quail can become the dish people ask about before they even ask who you're playing next weekend.
What our fans are saying:
“We served the quail at our game-day party and couldn't believe how many compliments we got. Everyone wanted to know what it was, where we got it, and when we were making it again. It ended up being the most talked-about food at the party.”
